Intern (Seattle)
Factal, a breaking news startup based in Seattle, is offering two paid summer internships for students or recent graduates looking to build a career in digital journalism, with a priority for applicants in the New York and Seattle area.
Under this program, an intern will help run a real-time breaking news feed, gathering and verifying reports from around the world. Students work in a forward-thinking newsroom experimenting with unique digital products and with part of a small team of editors based out of Seattle, New York and London whose backgrounds vary from BBC, CBS, Agence France-Presse, HuffPost and Bloomberg News.
This is a part-time paid internship of 24-28 hours per week at $20 an hour, and would include evenings and weekends. It is open to college juniors, seniors, and graduating seniors, as well as graduate students. Experience working as an editor or reporter in a newsroom, or past internships, is preferred. Start and end dates are flexible.
